I think this is definitely the most Lo's I have done in a week. The Cocoa daisy team have come up with such interesting challenges that I have been inspired, which has been rare lately I will admit...

Here are a couple more from the challenges-
first, one from Anna, use fabric on your Lo and have the subject be about you. here I am dressed in my nurse dress up with my precious bride doll -



then a hand lettering/title challenge. this is Henry as usual, not bothering to hide his complete boredom at being used as a model while I played with camera settings-


and lastly a poster inspiration - this Wilco poster became one about our cat wally, who is getting on a bit.


My orange isn't as intense as I would like it to be, maybe a digi version would have worked better - to be honest I never even thought of it - must be getting slow.

Very tired tonight, went for a long bike ride in the heat today and spent the afternoon/evening scoring at Henry's cricket. And just finished watching Young Victoria for the first time (OK, I fell in love with the prince as well) so that was a pleasant way to finish the evening off.

Meaghan is apperently at swimming parties all weekend, luckily it is hot here now.

Time to watch some of the Aussies play against the South Africans in big boy cricket and then a nice sleep in tomorrow - yay. Have a great night where ever you are

All about books

I love books. I have stated that I would give up many things before giving up reading so when we received this challenge from Another Freaking Scrappy challenge to scrap your favourite book, I was in a dilemma. Which one?? Anne of Green Gables is always high up there but really I had so many more. So I went with those books (and authors) that I reread on a regular basis. these include Little women, The Guernsey Literary and potato peel pie society club, Bill Bryson, Tim Moore, David Eddings and The Magician series.

I would love to hear what your fav read is, maybe your favourite childhood book, or what your current tastes lean towards. I know mine have changed from the books I loved as a teen (Stephen King, Virginia Andrews - who remembers how big she was in the 80's? - completely sick books and bad Russian revolution/romance combo books) to now where I can't read horror but don't mind a good vampire story or chic lit detective in the Stephanie Plum genre.

and just a quick Lo to finish on, more from the Cocoa Daisy Crop from the weekend, this time the challenge was to use quilts as inspiration. I used a pretty strip quilt with bright colours on a white back ground. I love getting the camera back from Meaghan and finding arty photos like this on there. She didn't for once protest that I was doing a Lo on her.

Matt is now in Edinburgh, off to Dublin for a few days, then making his way to Germany to head home, he is very tired now and is looking forward to coming home. I suspect we won't see him much in the first week as his bed will be his priority...

Ok, enough rambling, time to go find your favourite book and come and play!!

loving skype

Two posts in one day - cool.

As soon as I saw this weeks Sketchy Thursday sketch, I knew exactly what I wanted to scrap. We have come to rely on skype and email to communicate with Matt, remember when the idea video phone calls where almost reserved for sci fi and futuristic movies - and yet here we are and the kids take it for granted. Long distance calls that were so rare because of the hideous expense. Now we get moving(!!!) pictures as well for next to nothing. How very cool is that????

Whenever Matt Skypes us, Geoff takes a screen snapshot. It is interesting to look back and see him getting hairier, and more tired looking with each skype session.





It's been a few days since our last contact so hopefully tonight - we assume he is in England somewhere at the moment.

Our internet is not liking the wind so this post is driving me mad, swapping to the laptop, much more betterer. hmm actually it is blogger that is playing up, how unusual is that????gggrrrrr
