Yesterday we received the news that Geoff's Mum had passed way in her sleep. Although she had been sick lately, this was still a shock as we thought she was improving.
I think it has been easier for Geoff than it might have been because he had some quiet, quality time with her in the past month. Both Geoff and one of his sister's had spent time with Ethleen in the past few weeks, which she would have loved.
We also had celebrated her 80th birthday in late January, where just about all of her immediate family was able to attend (and it was one of those rare family events where everything went smoothly). with family, Jan 2012
The funeral will be on the coast on Monday. Geoff is across there already with his sister, starting the long couple of months that will involve wrapping up all those things that you don't even consider when you start out.
In view of the disrupted week, I will resume my 10000 steps for Care next Wednesday. (I did manage close to 15000 yesterday as Geoff understandably just wanted to get out and into the fresh air..). I know everyone who has sponsored me will understand.
The support we have received over the past day has been heartwarming as well. Thank you to all those who left messages on Facebook as well as those who called and emailed.
back soon. xxx
